Lombardo, Guy (Albert)
(19 jun.1902, London, Ontario, Canadá–5 nov. 1977, Houston, Texas, EE.UU.).

Director de bandas estadounidense nacido en Canadá. Se formó como violinista y en 1917 formó su banda, los Royal Canadians. En 1927 comenzaron a radiodifundirse a escala nacional desde Chicago y a contar de 1929 fueron la atracción de invierno en la Roosevelt Grill de Nueva York, un compromiso de actuación reiterado por más de 30 años. Más tarde se trasladó al Hotel Waldorf-Astoria, continuando los famosos programas radiales de vísperas de año nuevo, iniciados en 1954, que llegaban a su clímax con "Auld Lang Syne. Aunque fue ridiculizado por los críticos con el apodo de "el rey de lo cursi, Lombardo ganó popularidad por dirigir lo que fue denominado como "la música más dulce de este mundo.
